Ryan Fournier, an associate in Armstrong Teasdale’s Corporate Services Group, was featured in the inaugural issue of the Food Insider Journal, a publication of Supply Side West.
In the Q&A article titled “Best Practices for Labeling Organic and Non-GMO Products,” Fournier explores the current regulatory environment and how food and beverage manufacturers can mitigate legal risk by adhering to clean label principles.
“It’s important to consider the delicate balance between implementing best practices and not wasting corporate profits on unnecessary procedures,” said Fournier.
Supply Side West is an annual trade show for the global dietary supplement, functional food and beverage, personal care and sports nutrition industries. Fournier was a featured speaker on supply chain considerations and solutions at the 2016 show, which nearly 15,000 industry professionals attended.
As co-leader of Armstrong Teasdale’s Agribusiness and Food industry group, Fournier routinely represents domestic and foreign companies in advising and complying with regulations promulgated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Federal Trade Commission, Environmental Protection Agency, Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and relevant state agencies. He has extensive experience in these areas, serving as lead counsel to multinational corporations on various federal and state regulatory matters impacted by international supply chains, market expansion and health and safety issues. He is also a frequent author on FDA-related topics.
