Jovita Foster is Featured in St. Louis American Special Diversity Section

Jovita Foster is a partner with the firm Armstrong Teasdale who is an advocate for diversity in the workplace and actively works to help recruit and retain minorities in the law firm.

Foster is a native of North St. Louis County. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with degrees in both Political Science and Economics. She then went to Washington University in St. Louis for her law degree.

While in law school, she worked as a summer associate for Armstrong Teasdale, and in 2000 she became a practicing lawyer for the firm working in employment and labor law litigation getting settlements for cases that deal with race, gender, disability and other types of discrimination.

"I essentially defend managers and employers that have been sued for employment discrimination," Foster explained.

In addition, Foster also gives guidance to companies during the process of planning anti-discrimination policies.
