Our commitment to technology allows The Explosion Fire Electrocution Practice Group to handle the management, litigation and trial of explosion, fire and electrocution incidents throughout the Midwest. Our technology allows our clients and our lawyers (in jurisdictions where we utilize local counsel) access to a complete electronic copy of the file. Those responsible for handling matters have access to every document in the file, 24-hours a day from any computer with internet access.This system is secure, as Internet transcriptions are encrypted and not decoded until they reach the computer terminal of a user who is specifically authorized to receive the transmission.

This technology keeps our clients and our lawyers up-to-date with all activities that occur in any matter. Each day when mail arrives (either at our office or the offices of our local counsel), it is scanned and uploaded to the electronic case file on Interfile^TM. When it is uploaded, a user alert is sent to all authorized users, clients, lawyers, in-house counsel, risk manager, and everyone else who wants to see all pleadings, depositions, correspondence, activities, events or anything else occurring in the matter. This technology allows our clients to see the daily mail at the same time our lawyers do, which is the day it is received.

Interfile provides tremendous advantages for clients dealing with excess insurance carriers. By providing access, the excess carrier will receive user alerts whenever any document is added to the case. The excess carrier will have access to the complete file (all case evaluations, depositions, pleadings, expert reports, documents produced). When the excess carrier has had access to the entire file from its inception, the excess carrier cannot claim "late notice" or "you never told me that . . . "

Each file on Interfile is organized by categories, such as Correspondence, Pleadings, Interrogatories, etc. We typically create a category for each witness and all categories of documents. All documents upload to Interfile are encrypted with 128 bit encryption. An unlimited number of categories can be created to accommodate the specific needs for that case.

Interfile contains its own encrypted email system. The advantage is that it saves the emails in the case created in Interfile in user created categories. In other words, emails can be automatically saved within the Intefile system. Interfile also contains a color-coded calendaring system, which also contains user alert features. Because it is designed to be completely customized to meet the users' requirements,the categories on interfile can be changed to quickly assemble an electronic record on appeal from the existing pleadings.
