International Litigation and Arbitration

The International Practice Group, in conjunction with the Litigation Department represent clients in commercial disputes involving international legal issues in various federal courts and also has experience using alternative dispute resolution procedures, including those of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). Our attorneys notonly have experience in obtaining and taking discovery abroad but also with the various conventions that control these processes.

Representative Litigation and Arbitration Matters

• Assisted a client with one of earliest China arbitrations in connection with a matter that shut down a Chinese plant.

• Represented a of Dominican party in U.S. Federal court action duplicating a parallel action in the Dominican Republic with respect to the termination of a distributor.

• Counseled a client in connection with action filed against it in Denmark regarding distribution rights in the United States.

• Advised a client in connection with rights and obligations with regard to threatened litigation in Spain over the termination of a Spanish distributor.

• Assisted a client with criminal investigation by the Brazilian government.
