As a member of the firm’s Corporate Services practice group, Amit Shah provides business advice to a broad range of companies, helping them secure value in new opportunities while alleviating risk. His practice is focused in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, commercial real estate, and general corporate law.

In the mergers and acquisitions area, Amit counsels buyers in consolidations, management buyouts, stock and asset purchases and dispositions, consolidations, private equity placements, and related transactions. Going hand-in-hand with his M&A work, he regularly works with buyers and sellers of office, flex, and industrial properties, including public real estate investment trusts. He is also active in the sale and purchase of distressed business assets.

Guiding clients regarding strategies for growth, structure, and governance, Amit creates and reviews joint venture agreements, licensing agreements, supply agreements, offshore and onshore outsourcing contracts, as well as distribution and manufacturing agreements.

As chair of the Diversity Committee, Amit understands that an inclusive environment is not only the right thing to do, but makes excellent business sense. By actively hiring, developing, retaining, and advancing the best attorneys and staff from a wide range of backgrounds, he helps to ensure an improved scope in legal advice.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Shah served as Law Clerk to Chief U.S. Magistrate Judge Celeste F. Bremer for the Southern District of Iowa.
