A member of the firm’s Intellectual Property group, Brian Gill focuses on obtaining domestic and foreign patents, registering trademarks and copyrights, counseling clients, rendering opinions and preparing license agreements. He has been involved in the prosecution of patent applications pertaining to manufacturing processes, durable goods, appliances, semi-conductor devices, medical devices and various other inventions.

For intellectual property enforcement, Brian prosecutes and defends claims relating to infringements of patents, trademarks and trade secret misappropriation for clients.

In addition to handling litigation, Brian prepares non-infringement and invalidity opinions, and patentability, due diligence, and patent landscape analyses. In these matters, he assists clients in pre-litigation enforcement of patent rights by performing initial infringement analyses, providing tailored patent enforcement strategies, preparing cease and desist letters and negotiating settlement agreements.

Prior to joining the firm, Brian was in private practice at an intellectual property law firm. Before law school, he worked as an engineer/project manager with a St. Louis engineering company. While there, he worked in the areas of energy generation, automotive manufacturing, fluid dynamics and steel mill processing.
