In addition to handling patents, David guides in the licensing of trademarks and copyrights, intellectual property portfolio management, and due diligence.

Background

Prior to joining the firm, David worked for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) as a patent examiner in the business methods area and as an intellectual property research specialist in the Office of Intellectual Property Policy and Enforcement, where he provided technical assistance and training on legislative, policy and intellectual property enforcement issues.

At the USPTO, David analyzed foreign and domestic legislation and agreements for compliance with U.S. and international law; facilitated coordinating seminars on piracy, counterfeiting, and gray market goods; and developed educational materials regarding best practices in identification, protection, and enforcement of intellectual property rights.
