Mr. Houser practices in the areas of patent, trademark and copyright law. He has extensive experience counseling business managers in all aspects of intellectual property law; performing patent clearances in the electrical and mechanical arts; drafting infringement opinions; negotiating and drafting a variety of technology related agreements, e.g., patent and technology license agreements, joint development agreements and intellectual property related provisions of various types of commercial agreements both domestically and internationally; and preparing and prosecuting patent applications. He currently concentrates his practice primarily in drafting and negotiating technology related agreements, conducting patent clearances and advising on patent infringement avoidance and patent enforcement.
Background
Prior to joining Armstrong Teasdale in 2003, Mr. Houser served 26 years as an intellectual property counsel for the General Electric Company. He began his GE career in the Patent Lawyer Development Training Program. For the last ten years at GE, he served as the Senior Counsel for Intellectual Property for the GE Consumer Products Business headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky. Prior to law school, Mr. Houser served as an officer in the US Air Force, then worked as an engineer for the US Air Force Avionics Laboratory.
