Jennifer Arendes serves public and private sector employers—including telecommunications, banking, manufacturing, transportation, and insurance companies—in human resources related matters and all aspects of employment litigation at the administrative, state, and federal levels.
A significant portion of Jennifer’s practice involves counseling clients regarding compliance with the evolving state and federal employment laws and regulations, including ADA and FMLA issues. She guides employers through proper hiring, discipline, leave and discharge practices as well as EEO policies and procedures.
Jennifer defends employers and managers in all types of employment litigation including claims of race, sex, age, religion, national origin, military, and disability discrimination. She also handles claims of sexual harassment, wage and hour matters, wrongful discharge, and ERISA, FMLA, and USERRA matters.
Proficient in best employment practices, Jennifer provides customized training in a wide spectrum of matters for employees at all levels. She speaks on subjects such management practices relating to discrimination prevention, family and medical leave, personnel policies, employee leave management, and performance management. She is experienced in drafting employment contracts, employee handbooks, personnel policies, and separation agreements.
