Of Counsel
P: 314.621.5070 ext. 7282
F: 314.552.4865

John Dooling guides corporate executives, business owners, and high-net worth private clients in planning for the future. Practicing primarily in estate, tax, business succession strategies, and trust and estate administration, he provides insights that help people make sound business and personal decisions. His prior financial advisory experience gives him a broader context when designing business, tax, estate, and asset protection.

Sensitive to family dynamics, John works to devise and implement comprehensive plans that go beyond minimizing or eliminating taxes to ensure that the plan is flexible and adaptable to the changing economy, family situations, or unforeseen circumstances. For families and individuals, he creates complex estate plans through the use of use of wills; revocable and irrevocable trusts; and gifting programs. He can also set up a family office or improve the operational structure of an existing one.

For businesses, John structures deliberate succession plans and establishes long-term benefits for shareholders via corporate, limited liability and partnership structures; charitable foundations; qualified and non-qualified compensation plans; and life insurance.

John also prepares individual, business, and fiduciary tax returns and administers trusts and estates. If trust and estate controversies arise, he ensures all assets are distributed correctly.

Background

Prior to joining the firm, John worked in a financial advisory/trust counsel role at Commerce Bank. Before that, he was in private practice with another large area law firm.
