John McClelland concentrates his practice in the areas of municipal law, bankruptcy, energy law and commercial litigation. He has represented banks and other secured creditors in litigation and negotiation of debt restructuring, refinancing and asset sale, bankruptcy proceedings and defense of claims arising from collateralized debt obligations and credit default swaps. He has represented banks with such matters as regulatory compliance, directors and officers liability, fidelity bond claims and lender liability claims. As a plaintiffs' lawyer, John has won several multi-million-dollar judgments and settlements on behalf of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, banks and bank holding companies, and manufacturing companies in claims for legal and accounting malpractice or director and officer breach of duty. He has served as an Adjunct Professor of Trial Advocacy, University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.
