Kevin Jones is a patent attorney in the firm’s Intellectual Property practice group. Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, his main focus is on patent procurement of U.S. and international patent applications in the computer software and electrical arts. His emphasis is in wireless networking, mobile devices, cloud computing, information security, e-commerce, image analysis, resource management, gaming machines, radio-frequency identification, GPS technology and xerographic marking devices.
Representing companies ranging from large Fortune 100 corporations to small start-ups, Kevin guides on the development and leveraging of technology. He works closely with in-house counsel and patent examiners to ensure his clients receive the broadest claim scope possible while being cognizant of expenses and future litigation.
Regularly, Kevin assists clients with patent portfolio acquisitions, patent landscaping and patent monetization. He also prepares patent validity opinions, patent infringement opinions and freedom-to-operate opinions.
