Lauren Ashley Smith is a member of Armstrong Teasdale’s Public Finance and Real Estate, and Financial Services practice groups.
Drawing on her research and scholarship in land use and state and local government law, Lauren focuses on public/private real estate development and municipal finance. She serves as developer’s counsel, bond counsel, issuer’s counsel, underwriter’s counsel, disclosure counsel, and bank counsel to municipalities, small manufacturers, non-profit organizations, investment banking firms, and banks on projects concerning development and financing incentives, redevelopment, tax increments, and special purpose districts. Lauren also represents individuals and organizations in the strategic development and management of a variety of industrial, commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects.
Lauren represents lenders and other creditors in all aspects of litigation relating to the debtor-creditor relationship, including bankruptcy, reorganization, and liquidation. She assists secured lenders with enforcement of their state law collection rights, including suing and collecting on distressed loans, real estate foreclosures, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) foreclosures on personal property, and post-judgment collection efforts.
