The U.S. Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals in July affirmed a district court’s ruling upholding an arbitrator’s award to Medicine Shoppe International, Inc., an Armstrong Teasdale client. Medicine Shoppe had filed a claim with the American Arbitration Association against Donnie Turner, president of Turner Investments, Inc., and Turner Investments, Inc. for closing a franchise prior to the end of a 20-year operating agreement. On January 30, 2009, the arbitrator entered an award in favor of Medicine Shoppe in the amount of $472,164.42, which includes all requested damages and attorneys' fees and costs. Turner appealed, unsuccessfully arguing that the arbitrator disregarded the law. Medicine Shoppe was represented by
Craig Moore.
