Meredith Rund provides practical, sophisticated advice to complex legal problems unique to the labor and employment arena.

In state and federal courts and before state, federal, and local administrative agencies, Meredith defends employers in matters involving claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wages. With a deep knowledge of employment law policies and an eye on the ever-changing economic reality, she litigates matters such as Title VII, Section 1981, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Pregnancy Discrimination Act (PDA), the Missouri Human Rights Act, and a variety of other state and federal laws. 

Meredith provides valuable day-to-day preventative counseling, review and drafting of employment-related agreements and contracts, employee handbooks and policies. She also regularly presents in-house training programs on such topics as sexual harassment, accommodating disabilities, and general management training.

Background

Meredith is a former assistant general counsel for Truman Medical Center. Prior to law school, she spent six years as a law enforcement officer/detective with the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department. During law school, she held an externship with the U.S. Attorneys’ Office in the Western District of Missouri and following, Meredith served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Robert E. Larsen, magistrate judge on the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri.
