Kara Portwood, application specialist at Armstrong Teasdale, has been recognized by the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) with a 2011 Distinguished Peer Award for outstanding achievements in the category for “Desktop and Application Services Champion.”
Portwood, who received the award at the group’s annual meeting in Nashville, TN on August 25, was honored for continuously bringing “value to the firm’s clients by facilitating desktop technology best practices.” The Distinguished Peer Award program recognizes those who have delivered great business value and transformational impact through their innovations and implementations or have been champions in specific areas of focus for their organizations. ILTA’s Award program provides a forum for peer-nominated, peer-judged innovations in technology.
An Armstrong Teasdale employee for some 16 years, Portwood specializes in support/use of software applications including integration and metadata/security matters. Portwood also works with many of Armstrong Teasdale’s clients to help facilitate document collaboration.
ILTA is an international peer networking organization aimed at helping members maximize the value of technology in support of the legal profession. ILTA's international membership comprises more than 1,300 law firm entities and 14,000 individuals in membership. An officer of the organization, Portwood serves as its Microsoft Strategic Relationship Liaison.
