David Kornelis primarily handles business litigation and commercial transactions, with emphasis on the construction industry and title insurance litigation.

In construction matters, David represents architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, material and equipment suppliers, project owners, lenders, and bond sureties.

For clients on both private and government construction projects, David’s work includes reviewing, negotiating, and drafting contracts; counseling on issues arising during and after contract performance; and providing representation in both informal dispute resolution efforts and mediation, arbitration, and litigation.

David prosecutes and defends claims of professional negligence, defective work, and failure to perform work; payment claims for work beyond contract scope; delay, disruption, and acceleration claims; and mechanic’s lien and bond claims.

In title insurance litigation, David represents insured owners and lenders in disputes involving their interests in real estate. He also represents title insurance underwriters in actions against them and in disputes with agents.

David is available to serve as a mediator. He is a qualified neutral under Missouri Supreme Court Rule 17 and is on the U.S. District Court, Western District of Missouri list of mediators.
