Steve Pozaric serves businesses of all sizes in the areas of corporate, mergers and acquisitions, health care, technology, and securities law. Prior experience in corporate finance for companies ranging in size from Fortune 500 to venture capital backed start-ups gives him added perspective in business operations, practices, dynamics, and behaviors.
Spanning multiple industries, Steve represents companies in a wide variety of business matters. From guiding emerging companies, including choice of entity and financing strategies to assisting a mature business with acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, securities issues, or succession planning, Steve works to merge their wants with their long-term goals.
Steve helps hospitals and medical groups with operational matters, joint ventures, contract drafting and negotiation, acquisitions, committee and compliance policies, and staffing issues. He also counsels clients regarding compliance with the federal Stark and anti-kickback restrictions on physician self-referral for Medicare and Medicaid patients.
For biotechnology, life sciences, and technology-based companies, Steve assists in formation, entity choice, and the securing of funding through private placements from venture capital funds and other sources.
Active in the St. Louis community, Steve serves as general counsel of the Fair St. Louis Foundation and Chairman of the Physical Arrangements Committee for Fair St. Louis and the Celebrate St. Louis Summer Concert Series. The Foundation hosts a three-day event under the Gateway Arch that has been a Fourth of July tradition for more than three decades. This historic celebration features live music, educational activities, air shows and spectacular fireworks that have been ranked among the top 10 in the country. The Celebrate St. Louis Summer Concert Series, most recently held at Soldiers’ Memorial in downtown St. Louis, is a musical festival spanning two weekends and plays host to national and regional performers.
In his role as general counsel, Steve advises the board and leadership of the Foundation on general legal matters and negotiates contracts with musical performers, event staging companies and other vendors critical to events.
As Chairman of the Physical Arrangements Committee, Steve is responsible for the overall design, set-up, maintenance and removal of the infrastructure for the events which hosted up to 200,000 people daily on the Arch grounds and up to 50,000 people for the Celebrate St. Louis Concerts. In a project management role, he coordinates the activities of the event staging company and vendors for lighting, staging, electrical, security and sanitation services.
Steve also played a key role on the Safety Sub-Committee as it improved the safety and incident action plan in light of recent developments. He has recently joined the Event Safety Alliance, an industry group dedicated to improving safety at festivals, fairs and events.
