Raphael Nemes is a member of the firm’s Litigation practice group. He strives to achieve the most desirable outcomes for clients while still anticipating and exploring alternative scenarios for resolution.

Much of Rafi’s work includes contract disputes and white collar criminal defense matters. The variety of legal matters he attends to include:

  • Assisting the lead attorney in connection with a contract dispute involving a construction company.
  • Representing a medical research foundation in a trust dispute.
  • Aiding in several white collar defense matters, which included drafting legal memoranda and court motions, as well as research and investigatory work.

Rafi's background during a summer internship with the Victim Services Unit and volunteer work in Haiti brings valuable perspective in his current work.

Background

Prior to joining Armstrong Teasdale, Rafi served as a legal intern for the U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of Missouri. He was also a summer associate at the firm. During Rafi’s final year of law school, he represented clients through Washington University’s Criminal Justice Clinic at the St. Louis County Public Defender’s Office.

Rafi's inspiration to become a lawyer came from his work with crime victims through the Victim Services Unit in the St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office. He also volunteered in Cap Haitien, Haiti with a St. Louis-based medical organization and saw first-hand that many of Haiti's public health issues were a direct result of a failed legal system and government corruption.
