Stephanie Grise is a member of the firm’s Public Finance and Real Estate practice groups. On behalf of her clients, she negotiates, structures and implements economic development incentive programs, building valuable partnerships between the public and private sectors. She also represents buyers and sellers in a variety of real estate transactions in Missouri and Illinois.

Serving in various capacities – developer’s counsel, bond counsel, disclosure counsel, and underwriter’s counsel – Stephanie provides guidance in a wide array of redevelopment projects, including office industries, residential, commercial and retail. These projects combine elements of traditional real estate and land use with state and local incentive financing.

A considerable portion of her practice focuses on redevelopment incentives. Stephanie represents developers and municipalities in implementing Missouri tax increment financing, Chapter 100 industrial revenue bonds, transportation development district (TDD) and community improvement district (CID) financing, Missouri BUILD bond financing, Quality Jobs Program tax credits, Chapter 353 tax abatement, New Markets Tax Credits and sales tax exemptions.

For her clients in Illinois, Stephanie counsels developers in securing tax increment financing, special service area and special business district financing, rezoning, annexation and platting. She supplements her incentive practice with a variety of traditional real estate matters, including buying and selling commercial and residential properties, leasing, 1031 exchanges, installment contracts and other financing.

A member of Armstrong Teasdale's Associate Committee and Diversity Committee, Stephanie recognizes the value of development, retention and diversity and the competitive advantage it gives our clients. She also created and chairs the firm’s diverse associate development and retention initiative, which was established to carry out the specific development and retention objectives of the diversity committee. The initiative cultivates potential and develops individual strengths to provide professional guidance to underrepresented associates, and quantifies individual associate development and progression through firm structure. Over time, Stephanie has adapted the program to meet the changing needs of our attorneys and the increased offerings by firm management.

Stephanie also values her nonprofit board service and has an interest in board development and succession planning. She actively serves as the President of the Cornell Club of St. Louis and is on the Strategic Planning Committee of Marian Middle School. In the past, Stephanie served on the board of Kids In the Middle and on the development committee at Mathews-Dickey Boys’ and Girls’ Club.
