Tessa Trelz concentrates her practice in counseling business entities (including corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships). She has supported clients by providing efficient and effective analysis of, and practical solutions to, ownership and governance issues, and has acted as lead counsel on a wide variety of business transactions (including buying and selling products and services, licensing of software and other intellectual property, nondisclosure and noncompetition, distributorships, and outsourcing) ranging in size and value up to hundreds of millions of dollars. She has had an active practice in mergers and acquisitions and also has significant experience with strategic partnerships between business entities, particularly in situations where intellectual property assets are key.

Background

Before entering law school in 1984, Tessa spent a college semester and, after college, three years as an assistant to a member of the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C. In that capacity she handled constituent relations relative to the Federal government including the Departments of Education, Housing and Urban Development, Health and Human Services, Energy, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
