A member of the firm’s Intellectual Property group, Timothy Krieger focuses on complex intellectual property matters pending federal courts throughout the United States.

Within this area, Timothy prosecutes and defends claims of infringements involving patents, copyrights, trademarks and trade secret misappropriation for individuals and private and public companies involving a wide array of products. Products defended and intellectual property protected includes watercraft, pipeline rehabilitation technology, cable television operations and computer hardware and software.

Much of Timothy’s practice involves patent work. He works closely with scientists and corporate officers in the development, enhancement and licensing of patent portfolios. Handling all phases of litigation, Timothy prepares non-infringement and invalidity opinions, patentability, due diligence and patent landscape analyses. In these matters, he assists clients in pre-litigation enforcement of patent rights by performing initial infringement analyses, providing tailored patent enforcement strategies, preparing cease and desist letters, and negotiating settlement agreements.

Background

Prior to joining the firm, Timothy was in private practice at another large area firm. While in law school, he served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Judge Kathy Surratt-States. He also worked for five years as an electrical engineer after receiving his undergraduate degree.
