On June 30, 2017, Governor Greitens signed a bill into law that dramatically reforms the Missouri Human Rights Act. Many believe the new law will end nearly a decade of employee-friendly rulings in Missouri and that it brings Missouri into alignment with federal and other states’ anti-discrimination statutes. There is no doubt that the new law makes several, substantial changes to the MHRA and Missouri’s whistleblower law, which will affect how employers do business in Missouri for years to come. Learn about key changes to the law, including the new causation standard, damages caps, the abrogation of judicial decisions and best practices for you and your business.
