Biography
A senior associate in the firm’s Corporate Services practice group, Garrett Dean represents business clients across a wide variety of industries. He has drafted and negotiated agreements with an aggregate value exceeding $1 billion.
Garrett advises on issues ranging from business formation and general corporate matters to corporate and technology transactions, copyright protection, trademark registrations and renewals, and commercial contracts and licensing arrangements. He represents a diverse clientele that includes aerospace, media (telecommunications, TV, internet, wireless), software, medical devices and geospatial information companies, as well as breweries of all sizes.
He also has experience in providing legal counsel to individuals, groups and companies in matters related to podcasting.
Garrett has drafted and negotiated a $175 million international data infrastructure agreement, including multiyear operations and maintenance program, hardware, and custom and commercial software and implementation services. He has also authored dozens of successful trademark registrations for new products and renewals.
Garrett has also successfully drafted intellectual property agreements to establish clear boundaries between nonprofit entities and their for-profit counterparts, as well as negotiated and drafted lease agreements in support of both the establishment and expansion of several local breweries.

Background
Prior to joining Armstrong Teasdale, Garrett served as an associate attorney at the Denver office of a national law firm.
Garrett previously served as vice president and corporate counsel for a geospatial information company, and prior to that, he spent several years as a business professional in multiple industries, including aerospace, telecommunications and medical device manufacturing. As a business professional, he focused on drafting and negotiating contracts and driving business success. While working at a national defense contractor, he supported both classified and unclassified programs for the Department of Defense, as well as projects with NASA, SETI and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, among many others. Through this experience, Garrett gained exceptional knowledge and an insider’s perspective on corporate dealings and priorities.
Garrett also participated in the Space Resources Professional Course at International Space University.
