Biography
With a focus on patent litigation in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, Joseph Gribbin has extensive experience across multiple technologies and industry sectors, with particular knowledge in the medical device and life sciences industries. Joe has in-depth experience representing clients in infringement and validity matters before trial courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is also skilled in handling international trade secret disputes and matters involving patent licensing.
Joe’s background in chemical engineering, including experience serving as a refinery chemical engineer, lends to his understanding of complex concepts and processes, which he then applies strategically to protect his clients’ most valuable assets.
Joe also maintains an active pro bono practice, focusing on representing U.S. veterans who have been denied disability benefits before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
Background
Prior to joining Armstrong Teasdale, Joe was a patent litigation associate in the Philadelphia office of another international law firm, focusing on patent litigation—primarily before the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware—and post grant proceedings.
After law school, Joe held a judicial clerkship under the Hon. Norma L. Shapiro of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Prior to and during law school, Joe worked as a tech service engineer at a refinery for one of the largest fuel distribution companies in the United States.
