Biography
An associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property practice group, Karl Fisher represents clients in patent and other intellectual property litigation, as well as in general litigation matters. Karl has experience handling complex litigation cases and negotiating pre-litigation claims on behalf of his clients. He advocates for clients across industries including intellectual property rights holders, design and engineering professionals, product manufacturers, construction contractors, transportation companies, premises owners, and oil and gas companies. Leveraging his background as an architectural designer, Karl’s ability to visualize, distill and articulate both conceptual and technical data imparts a unique perspective to his representation.
As a former architectural designer and construction project manager, Karl brings unique experience to each representation, and has deep knowledge related to construction defects and contract disputes. He also possesses experience collaboratively managing all aspects of complex commercial litigation including matters involving regulatory investigations and admiralty matters.
Further, Karl has experience in defense matters involving Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration litigation, toxic tort, premises liability, product liability, professional liability and medical malpractice both at trial and via alternative dispute resolution. He has handled a variety of corporate law matters, subrogation claims, creditors’ rights and employment matters as well.
Background
Prior to joining Armstrong Teasdale, Karl worked in private practice for other law firms in Boston and Dallas.
Before law school, Karl worked as an architectural designer and construction project manager for projects throughout North Texas, providing design expertise for unique restaurant concepts to large scale, mixed-use developments.
