Armstrong Teasdale Adds Lawyers Wakaba Tessier, Carrie Schaffer
Armstrong Teasdale announces the addition of Partner Wakaba Y. Tessier and Senior Associate Carrie Schaffer to the firm’s Kansas City and Denver offices, respectively. They are among more than 210 lawyers and staff professionals who have joined Armstrong Teasdale in 2022 alone.
Tessier focuses her practice on health care law. She is highly skilled at navigating the complex health care regulatory landscape particularly in the area of compliance at both the state and federal levels across a variety of health care issues, privacy and data concerns, third-party payor audits and inquires, and day-to-day operational challenges. She advises clients ranging from individual physicians, physician groups, hospital systems and other ancillary health care providers, such as specialty pharmacies, clinical laboratories, behavioral health care providers and educational institutions.
Schaffer is an experienced lawyer focused on real estate development, including commercial real estate, construction, land use and zoning, with an emphasis on the cannabis industry. She advises clients on association bylaws, commercial leases, commercial development, site plans, and special use and variance zoning. She drafts and reviews contracts and is experienced in negotiation. Further, she is well versed in working with local authorities on behalf of clients. Schaffer is also skilled in acquisitions and has worked with clients ranging from fitness centers to equestrian centers.
