Armstrong Teasdale Adds to Litigation Practice in St. Louis
Armstrong Teasdale, a law firm with offices across the United States, proudly announces the addition of trial lawyer Jake Kohut to the firm’s award-winning Mass Tort and Catastrophic Loss practice area.
Kohut primarily defends clients in complex commercial litigation related to medical malpractice and liability, including premises, contract, product and commercial liability. He has experience defending claims for product liability, wrongful death and other personal injury actions. Kohut has successfully defended commercial litigation in state and federal court, including contract and indemnity disputes. He is also experienced in all stages of civil litigation, including drafting motions and pleadings, deposing fact witnesses and experts, and advising clients on the strength of claims brought as well as viable defenses.
Prior to joining Armstrong Teasdale, Kohut was in private practice at another St. Louis-area law firm. He also has extensive experience in criminal law as a former assistant prosecuting attorney for the Greene County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in Springfield, Missouri, where he served as the domestic violence liaison and managed a docket of over 400 cases.
In law school, Kohut clerked for the Hon. Edward M. Sweeney and prosecuted cases pursuant to Rule 13 on behalf of the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in Hillsboro, Missouri.
Kohut earned both his J.D. and a B.A. in political science and Spanish from the University of Missouri. He is admitted to practice law in Missouri and Illinois, and before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri.
He is based in the firm’s St. Louis office.
