Armstrong Teasdale’s McLaughlin Named a Go-To Cybersecurity/Data Privacy Lawyer
Armstrong Teasdale announces that Boston Partner Peter McLaughlin has been recognized as a 2022 Go-To Cybersecurity/Data Privacy Lawyer by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. The publication denotes its honorees as “leaders in [their] field with a long record of success.”
McLaughlin, who joined the firm in June 2022, is a seasoned privacy and data security attorney who advises clients with respect to a broad range of technology transactions, U.S. and international privacy, and cybersecurity issues. His practice focuses on uses of data across a range of industry sectors, with a particular depth of experience in health care. McLaughlin guides clients in their domestic and international handling of personal information; new product development; and the assessment of legally defensible cybersecurity programs.
He plays a critical role in the firm’s recently rebranded Data Innovation, Security and Privacy practice, which helps clients capitalize on the proliferation of innovative data technologies while maintaining legal and regulatory compliance.
Well-regarded in the data innovation, security and privacy space, McLaughlin is a member of the American Bar Association, where he has served as The SciTech Lawyer Editor-in-Chief (2018-2020) and Editorial Board Member (2016-2022); Healthcare Tech Committee Co-Chair (2017-2019); and Science & Technology Section Council Member (2019-2022). In addition, he has been recognized among The Legal 500 in the U.S. as a key practitioner in Data Protection and Privacy.
Prior to joining Armstrong Teasdale, McLaughlin served as partner at a Boston-headquartered law firm. He has also been Assistant General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer for Cardinal Health and Assistant General Counsel for Sun Microsystems.
