Denver Litigation Attorney Receives 2017 Up & Coming Award
Armstrong Teasdale, a law firm with offices across the United States, proudly announces that Litigation associate Douglas N. Marsh has been named to Law Week Colorado’s Up & Coming class of 2017.
The Up & Coming Awards specifically acknowledge lawyers within their first five years of practice who have accomplished great things in law in the past year. Law Week Colorado also takes volunteerism and pro bono work into consideration.
“In just five years of practice, Doug’s achievements are adding up quickly, and they’re rather impressive,” said Chuck Steese, partner and Denver office managing attorney at Armstrong Teasdale. “Doug recently had the opportunity to work on several high-profile cases and gain invaluable trial experience. I look forward to seeing what he can accomplish in the future.”
Marsh has experience drafting judicial memoranda, orders, opinions, complaints and responses; conducting depositions and preparing related documents; performing discovery working closely with the defendant(s); examining and cross-examining witnesses; presenting oral arguments in trial and appellate courts; conducting pleadings before the court; and drafting, filing and arguing briefs and motions.
He has litigated cases across the country, including a recent client victory on a matter involving the long-distance telephone scam known as “traffic pumping” (also called “access stimulation”). Marsh and team secured a judgment following a bench trial and recovered in excess of $1 million in damages for the firm’s client.
In bankruptcy court matters, Marsh’s experience includes avoiding fraudulent transfers and litigating adversary proceedings. This unique intersection of the law enables Marsh to provide significant value to his litigation clients, seeing the matter from all angles.
Marsh earned his J.D. from the University of Chicago and B.A. in classical studies and history, magna cum laude, from Brigham Young University. He is admitted to practice law in Colorado and Illinois. Marsh is based in the firm’s Denver office.
