Firm Recognized for Donating to Ferguson Jobs Center
In a recent St. Louis American article, Armstrong Teasdale is mentioned for donating to the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis' effort to build a new jobs center in Ferguson. The Urban League Community Empowerment Center of Ferguson will stand at the site of the burnt-out QuickTrip convenience store that gained national attention as the focal point of last summer's unrest following the fatal shooting of Michael Brown.
St. Louis Financial & Real Estate partners Mark Murray and George von Stamwitz and Litigation partner Jovita Foster (who also serves as general counsel for the League) are providing pro bono legal services, including land donation, cost of demolition and remediation of the site.
The center will house four social services organizations, including the Save Our Sons program that will train jobless or underemployed African-American young men and match them with local positions.
