Former Energizer Senior Trademark Counsel, Donna Frazier Schmitt, Joins Intellectual Property Group

Armstrong Teasdale announces the addition of Donna Frazier Schmitt, partner, to its Intellectual Property practice group. Based in the St. Louis office, Schmitt’s practice encompasses strategically managing global trademark portfolios while guiding brand owners in trademark selection, registration, licensing, policing and protection.

Prior to joining Armstrong Teasdale, Schmitt worked at Energizer Holdings for 17 years. During her long tenure she served as Senior Trademark Counsel, where she built its trademark and copyright department as Energizer evolved from a battery and lighting company to a household products and personal care company.  She was responsible for global trademark clearance and prosecution for a 10,000 plus trademark portfolio. As senior counsel, she directly managed trademark infringement cases with litigation counsel and developed and implemented a brand protection practice to address counterfeit products globally.

Schmitt earned her J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis and B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Arkansas and is admitted to practice law in Missouri, Illinois and Arkansas. She is active with the International Trademark Association and the International Anti-Counterfeiting Coalition, and is a member of The Missouri Bar and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.
