Legal Intelligencer Names Scheff a Best Law Firm Mentor
Richard Scheff, partner and leader of Armstrong Teasdale’s East Coast operations, has been named among the best law firm mentors by The Legal Intelligencer. The honor was conferred as part of the publication’s 2023 Professional Excellence Awards, highlighting achievements across the spectrum of the Pennsylvania legal community.
A nationally recognized trial lawyer and corporate advisor, Scheff also leads the execution of strategic growth for the firm on the East Coast. His practice primarily involves government and corporate investigations with a particular focus on the pharmaceutical, medical device and financial services industries.
In his current capacity and based on prior leadership roles both at Armstrong Teasdale and other law firms, Rich has dedicated his time to preparing the next generation of legal talent through mentorship and sponsorship. Mentees – both lawyers and staff professionals – describe him as someone who elevates diverse professionals, champions growth and encourages collaborative problem solving.
“For me, mentoring is a two-way street – you receive what you give and learn from everyone along the way,” said Scheff. “The value of robust mentorship is like the road map you use to go from one place to the next. Without robust mentorship, or a map, you would have no idea what turns to take or what pursuits to follow.”
Scheff will be recognized in a special section of the Legal Intelligencer as well as at an awards dinner on June 14.
