Tracy A. DiFillippo, partner in the Litigation practice group, has been elected to the board of directors of Communities in Schools (CIS) of Nevada for a three-year term, which began May 2015.
The nonprofit was founded in the 1970s to help K-12 students stay in school. CIS provides academic, health care, counseling, food, school supplies, and other means of support. It is now the leading dropout prevention organization with nearly 1.5 million young people receiving help from CIC in more than 3,400 schools. Of the students served, 99 percent stay in school and 91 percent graduate.
An experienced commercial litigator, Tracy focuses in the areas of construction, medical and dental malpractice, insurance and directors and officers (D&O) liability. After earning her J.D., cum laude, from Gonzaga University School of Law, DiFillippo completed a two-year clerkship with the Honorable Justice Robert R. Rose of the Nevada Supreme Court. She received her B.A. from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Tracy is admitted to practice law in Nevada and before the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and U.S. District Court of Nevada.
