Tax, Litigation Associates Join Armstrong Teasdale
Chriss, a member of the firm’s Corporate Services practice group, is skilled in tax law and estate planning. With a background in economics and an advanced legal degree in taxation, Chriss is an incredibly knowledgeable resource for his clients, providing counsel on tax implications and compliance. He also advises on succession planning, using key tools and strategies to protect his clients’ assets, as well as employee benefits and executive compensation matters. Chriss’ experience counseling low-income taxpayers lends to his knowledge of IRS disputes, and as such he has experience preparing memos, affidavits and supporting documents, and compromise offers. Further, Chriss has robust transactional and even international tax law experience, providing guidance on tax policy, treaty provisions and tax avoidance.
Kennedy is a member of the firm’s Litigation practice group, representing clients in various types of disputes. She is well-versed in all phases of discovery, trial preparation and settlement negotiation. In her past role as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable David D. Noce in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, she assisted with a diverse caseload, including complex commercial litigation, constitutional litigation, class actions, labor and employment cases, judicial review of administrative decisions, real estate litigation, and criminal matters. Prior to that, Kennedy worked for the University of Missouri Veterans Clinic, as well as the Missouri Bar’s Joint Commission on Women in the Profession. She also worked as a law clerk for a firm in Columbia, Missouri.
