Thor Mathison Joins Armstrong Teasdale’s St. Louis Office
Armstrong Teasdale, a law firm with offices across the United States, proudly announces the addition of Corporate Services associate Thor T. Mathison. He has a diverse practice focusing on complex corporate and regulatory issues, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and securities, payments regulations, technology and other commercial contracts, as well as general corporate governance and compliance.
As former general counsel for a multinational financial technology services company, Mathison gained significant experience in the online payment solutions space, including familiarity with the regulatory and compliance issues that impact fintech companies. He is well-established in the cryptocurrency space, including bitcoin and blockchain technology, and particularly the legal issues and emerging body of law surrounding the cryptocurrency industry. He has directly advised clients on cryptocurrency fund formation, cryptocurrency mining operations, money transmission licensure and initial coin offerings.
Mathison often acts as outside general counsel for his clients, providing pragmatic advice on business operations and strategic transactions. From, He has an active transactional practice, assisting small technology startups to Fortune 500 companies with both domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions and divestitures.
Supporting emerging companies, Mathison guides businesses through scaling and corporate governance matters, as well as financing transactions, including private equity and venture capital investments. He routinely assists startups with technology agreements and other complex commercial contracts.
He earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and B.A. in international comparative politics from the University of Wisconsin. He is admitted to practice law in Missouri, Illinois and Wisconsin.
