Armstrong Teasdale Welcomes Patent Attorney Patrick Kelly, Ph.D.
Armstrong Teasdale announces the addition of Of Counsel Patrick J. Kelly, Ph.D., to the firm’s Intellectual Property practice in Philadelphia. His addition reinforces an ongoing investment in the growth of the firm’s intellectual property capabilities internationally.
Kelly is a patent attorney with more than 30 years of experience in life sciences. He also has extensive experience in conducting validity, due diligence and freedom-to-operate studies; formulating and maintaining biotech IP estates; and preparing and prosecuting patent applications related to the life sciences. He has advised pharmaceutical, biotech and scientific instrumentation companies in all aspects of patent law, including preparing and prosecuting patent applications, formulating and maintaining biotech intellectual property estates, due diligence, freedom-to-operate studies and licensing.
He has also represented pharmaceutical companies in intellectual property litigation matters, including patent infringement and abbreviated new drug applications. With a background as an academic scientist, Kelly is deeply knowledgeable in biochemistry, immunology, virology, proteomics, genomics, transgenic animals, gene therapy and drug delivery systems.
Prior to joining Armstrong Teasdale, Kelly served as counsel at a large Philadelphia law firm. He was also a partner at patent and general practice law firms and an adviser to startup programs and medical technology incubators.
