Biography
Shubha Anand is a seasoned paralegal supporting firm lawyers and clients in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, immigration, bankruptcy, real estate and public finance.
In often complex M&A transactions, Shubha assists with the formation of LLCs and PCs and stays up to date with the rules and regulations for entity formation and other requirements such as permits and licenses, which vary widely depending on state, county, city and other jurisdictions. She supports corporate compliance efforts and works in collaboration with attorneys and clients on detailed research, deadlines, and other issues and requirements for existing entities.
She also assists with employment-based immigration filings for U.S. and foreign clients, as well as assists with asylum applications for Afghan immigrants.
For the Public Finance practice, she retrieves and reviews Business Listing Taxes, Sales Taxes and Use Taxes for various Community Improvement Districts (CIDs) and Transportation Development Districts (TDDs) on a monthly basis. She also retrieves, reviews and provides monthly trustee statements to the trustees of different CIDs and TDDs; and provides updates to attorneys and senior paralegals.
Further, Shubha supports the firm’s bankruptcy attorneys with various filings via PACER including bankruptcy notices, hearings, quarterly post-confirmation reports, and entry of appearance. She also provides assistance with company research, reviewing leases and other agreements, and drafting documents for real estate transactions.
Background
Prior to joining Armstrong Teasdale, Shubha served as lead litigation paralegal at a personal injury law firm in St. Louis, where she gained experience with medical litigation, mass tort and personal claims. She also has experience as an intake specialist and paralegal/legal assistant at multiple St. Louis personal injury law firms. Additionally, she is skilled in bioscience and is well versed in state and federal filings.
