Armstrong Teasdale announces that Litigation Partners Chuck Steese and Vance Knapp have been recognized among 5280 Magazine’s Top Lawyers for 2023. Each year, 5280 Magazine compiles a list of high-performing lawyers in the seven-county Denver metro area. Nominations are accepted from other lawyers admitted to practice in the Denver area, and are followed by staff interviews to select the final honorees.

Steese, who was recognized for Communications/Technology Law, is listed for the third consecutive year, while Knapp, who was recognized for Labor and Employment is listed for a second consecutive year.

Steese has successfully tried more than 50 complex commercial, telecommunications and intellectual property disputes in courts and before regulatory bodies across the United States. His cases often involve parallel, multi-district litigation and regulatory or other proceedings. His work has influenced the way government regulates telecommunications companies specifically in the area of “traffic pumping” (also known as access stimulation). At the forefront of this issue, Steese tried the first such lawsuit and has gone on to handle numerous cases throughout the country, which had a direct impact on the FCC modifying its existing rules.

Knapp has more than 20 years of experience in management-side labor and employment law. He has extensive experience representing employers in federal and state court litigation and administrative proceedings throughout the U.S. He advises employers on ADA matters and accommodating employees with disabilities, recruiting, hiring, drug testing, workplace violence issues and terminations. Knapp also has significant experience representing employers in FLSA collective actions, wage and hour matters and FINRA employment arbitrations. As a former prosecutor for the Denver City Attorney’s Office, he has tried over 300 cases, 30 of which were jury trials.
