Michelle D. Alarie, a litigator based in Armstrong Teasdale’s Las Vegas office, was named to the board of directors of the William S. Boyd School of Law Society of Advocates. As a board member, she will be responsible for alumni outreach and organizing competitions hosted by the law school, including the just announced Gaming Law Moot Court Competition and the Judge Lloyd George Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition (the regional competition for the American Bankruptcy Institutes’ Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition).

The Society of Advocates (SOA) is an honorary organization whose members represent the school in interscholastic advocacy competitions all over the country. Only 10-12 students each year are selected to become members of this organization. The SOA seeks to foster superior written and oral advocacy, counseling and dispute resolution skills by providing inter-scholastic competition experience.

While in law school, Michelle was a member of the SOA, competing in a national moot court competition in Boulder, Colorado. Since graduation, she has been actively involved in helping the organization and its student members. In her law practice, Michelle provides counsel in complex commercial matters and focuses on banking and bad faith insurance and coverage litigation, bankruptcy and criminal law.

Alarie earned her J.D, cum laude, from William S. Boyd School of Law - University of Nevada, Las Vegas and B.A. in Political Science from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
