Biography

Whitney Perez has more than 20 years of experience as a paralegal, primarily focusing on residential and commercial real estate.

She supports the firm’s attorneys in a variety of roles pertaining to real estate transactions, including the interview of prospective co-op apartment purchasers; preparation and organization of purchase applications and supporting documents, such as contracts of sale; preparation and distribution of co-op transfer documents for board members’ execution; and daily communication with key parties including attorneys, lenders, purchasers, sellers, board members, shareholders, title companies and brokers. She regularly communicates changes in purchase policies, requirements and fees payable to ensure all parties involved have up-to-date information in a transaction.

Whitney also assists in the preparation of loan, transfer and estate documents, as well as closing statements, ACRIS documents for filing with the New York City Department of Finance, and post-closing documents. She maintains and updates tenant ledgers and stock books, and records financial information related to biannual state filings.

Further, Whitney has past experience supporting litigation and banking attorneys with respective trial and closing preparation, document review and production, and file management.

She has experience with various software programs including the Microsoft Office suite, Lexis/Nexis, Adobe, NYSBA HotDocs, Roxio Creator, ACRIS and WorkSite. Whitney is also a public notary.

Background

Prior to joining the firm, Whitney was a paralegal at a mid-Atlantic law firm where she was responsible for supporting attorneys on matters related to more than 20 condominium and cooperative buildings in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens, New York.
