Biography
Will Hershkowitz is a paralegal supporting the firm’s attorneys in various real estate and litigation matters.
In his role, Will acts as a transfer agent for several cooperative clients and manages closings for apartment transfers. He coordinates with attorneys for the buyers and sellers; obtains relevant closing documents, including powers of attorney, bank recognition agreements and lien searches; and prepares closing statements. In addition, he has experience obtaining all relevant documents and resolutions, and preparing guaranty of lease as well as occupancy and assignment agreements.
Will also supports the firm’s trusts and estates attorneys in analyzing agreements and documents in connection with co-op transfers to a trust or from an estate.
In the litigation practice area, Will regularly drafts and reviews documents and legal briefs; conducts research; reviews and selects documents responsive to discovery demands; and assists at depositions, trials and arbitrations. He has additional experience supporting litigators across a wide range of matters including those related to cooperatives and condominiums, personal injury, medical malpractice, contentious corporate dissolution and trademark infringement, among others.
Will has experience with various software programs and systems, including state and federal (PACER) electronic case and document retrieval, Concordance, Eclipse, Lexis/Nexis and HotDocs.
Background
Prior to joining the firm, Will was a paralegal at another New York City law firm. Before that, he was a paralegal for a New York law firm focusing primarily on commercial litigation, contract disputes and product liability.
