Biography
Elizabeth (Libby) Grube is an associate in the firm’s Financial and Real Estate Services practice group. She provides counsel to a wide range of clients in matters involving bankruptcy and creditors’ rights, commercial lending, commercial leasing, real estate and public finance.
Libby represents the interests of corporate debtors, secured lenders and unsecured creditors in bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court restructuring efforts. She assists in the prosecution and defense of adversary proceedings, preference actions and related litigation, as well as providing assistance with routine litigation needs such as claims preparation, administration and monitoring. In addition, she routinely documents financial agreements in the insolvency context, including debtor-in-possession financing.
Libby also counsels commercial lenders and borrowers in a variety of lending transactions, particularly construction loans and loans backed by commercial real estate. She regularly advises clients in all stages of a lending relationship, from preparation of initial loan documents, to documenting the work out of distressed loans, to assisting secured creditors in realizing on their collateral.
Libby counsels clients in the purchase, sale, leasing and financing of commercial real estate. Her experience also extends to drafting and managing lease documents in the context of large-scale acquisitions and corporate restructurings. She also provides counsel to real estate developers on public incentives including the Missouri Chapter 100 program.
Background
Prior to joining Armstrong Teasdale, Libby was a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Tony M. Davis in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Texas. During law school she worked as a student attorney for Washington University School of Law’s Entrepreneurship and Intellectual Property Clinic where she assisted local startups and non-profits with governance and compliance matters.
Libby has also held past summer associate roles for law firms in St. Louis, Missouri, and Chicago, Illinois, and served as a judicial extern to the Hon. Donald G. Wilkerson in United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois.
