CDO Kenneth Sharperson Earns Trustee for Justice Honor
Armstrong Teasdale Chief Diversity Officer Kenneth E. Sharperson has been honored at the Ninth Annual Lawyers for Tri-County Awards Dinner May 21 as one of its 2024 Trustees for Justice honorees. Presented by the Tri-County Scholarship Fund (TCSF), the awards recognize members of the New Jersey legal community for their excellent achievements and leadership. The attorneys, judges and educators who are recognized serve as exemplary role models for youth through their vocations and service to others.
Sharperson, who was recognized for his dedication to diversity, inclusion and the legal community, as well as his civic achievements, has been a champion of diversity and inclusion in the legal profession for over 20 years and is a sought-after speaker who frequently discusses a host of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) topics, including managing risks around diversity and inclusion efforts at law firms, building and sustaining inclusive workplaces and increasing a law firm’s financial outlook through DEI.
As Armstrong Teasdale’s Chief Diversity Officer, he leads the execution of the firm’s strategy on DEI, as well as ongoing and new initiatives to build and sustain a culture of inclusion and belonging. He collaborates with firm leaders to embed a diverse and inclusive culture into the firm’s talent practices and business strategy; drive inclusion programming and initiatives; and support various affinity organizations firmwide and in the communities where we work and live.
The mission of the TCSF is to provide scholarships to deserving inner-city students that enable them to attend private or parochial schools. The Awards Dinner raises funds to support the Freedom Scholars program, which assists students in financial need, as well as those with high academic achievement. Over 36,000 scholarships have been awarded.
