Senior Associate Casey Waughn spoke to Newsweek after a jury in California found Meta and YouTube-owned Google were negligent in the design or operation of their platforms and caused harm to a plaintiff, who said her use of the platforms as a child led to addiction and worsened her mental health: "This verdict could further signal to lawmakers that there is public support for oversight and safety measures when it comes to youth online, and spur further legislative activity in the space."
