For more than 35 years, Chris Anderson has been protecting his clients’ assets and their legacies. As leader of the Trusts and Estates practice in the Kansas City office, he provides counsel in the areas of estate planning, taxation, corporate matters and charitable organizations.

Across multiple industries, Chris works closely with family-owned businesses. In that role he often serves as general counsel to the business. Whether starting a new venture or developing an existing business, he assists in strategic planning to minimize vulnerabilities and taxes and to plan for future growth and for changes through family and management succession planning.

Chris devises and implements estate plans which are not only designed to minimize tax but also to preserve family wealth through generations. These comprehensive plans often involve a number of both corporate and trust strategies.

In connection with his work with businesses, Chris also guides with real estate projects such as sales, purchases, traditional financing and leases.

Active in the industry, Chris serves in a number of professional associations and on many committees related to charities, tax and estate planning. He is currently a member of the board of the Estate Planning Symposium. Chris frequently speaks to other attorneys and writes on topics concerning taxation and trusts and estates matters.

Chris served as Co-Chairman of the Heart of America Tax Institute in 1987. He currently serves on and is a past Chairman of the Kansas City Estate Planning Symposium. He has been a member of the Mission Hills City Council and currently serves on its Planning Commission. He has served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees and as Auditor of Country Club Congregational Church.
