Biography
Aswini Alvarez is a member of Armstrong Teasdale’s Intellectual Property practice group where she provides litigation counsel on a range of IP-related disputes, in addition to patent preparation and prosecution guidance. She has advised clients on matters involving patent infringement, trademark infringement, copyright, and invasion of privacy claims. Technologies she has advised on include AI, server architecture, SaaS, wireless communications, data management systems, autonomous vehicles, and mechanical technologies.
Aswini provides counsel at numerous phases of litigation, from initial discovery to trial. She leverages a background in computer science and experience in the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications, as well as providing patentability and freedom-to-operate assessments.

Background
Aswini was a law clerk and summer associate at Armstrong Teasdale before joining the firm full time. Prior to that, she held numerous legal internships and was a patent engineer at another Chicago area law firm. She also served as a judicial extern to the Hon. Judge Ronald F. Bartkowicz in the Law Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County.
