Business Journal Honors Katie Doherty with Business of Pride Award
Katie Doherty, an associate in Armstrong Teasdale’s St. Louis office, has been recognized by the St. Louis Business Journal in its 2023 Business of Pride Awards. The awards honor LGBTQIA+ business leaders and companies who are successful in their careers, active in their communities, and are advocates for inclusion and equality.
In addition to her active litigation practice, Doherty is an advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programming at the firm. She serves as co-lead of Armstrong Teasdale’s newly created Pride resource group and is spearheading the firm’s participation in the National LGBTQ+ Bar Association’s Lavender Law Conference. She was also one of 12 women at the firm selected in 2022 to participate in the Fordham Academy for the Advancement of Women in Law.
She is also active in numerous professional and civic organizations, including the Women Lawyers Association of Greater St. Louis, American Bar Association (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Committee), National Association of Women Lawyers, Leadership Council on Legal Diversity Pathfinder Program (Alumna, 2021; St. Louis City Lead), Law Firm Antiracism Alliance State and Local Education Law and Policy Subcommittee (Co-Chair), BAMSL Young Lawyers Division (Executive Board Member), Saint Louis University School of Law Young Alumni Society (Advisory Board Member), CASA of St. Louis Young Professionals Board (Community Outreach Chair), BAMSL Women in the Legal Profession Committee (Secretary), and the St. Louis Zoo Young Professionals Advisory Board. She recently received the John C. Shepherd Professionalism Award from the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis.
