LCLD Names Armstrong Teasdale a 2023 Top Performer and Compass Award Winner
Armstrong Teasdale announces that for the third consecutive year, it has been named a Top Performer and Compass Award winner by the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), one of the nation’s leading organizations promoting diversity. The awards recognize member law firms and corporations that show a strong commitment to building more diverse organizations and a more inclusive legal profession.
LCLD consists of more than 430 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who have dedicated themselves to creating a truly diverse U.S. legal profession.
“On the heels of our Mansfield Rule 6.0 Certification Plus, this is another opportunity demonstrating that our commitment to DEI is more than words,” said Chief Diversity Officer Kenneth Sharperson. “We are proud to have numerous active and former LCLD participants at Armstrong Teasdale and are grateful for the impact of LCLD on the broader legal community. Building these bridges is critical to advancing the practice of law.”
The Top Performer award recognizes those organizations in the top 20% for participation in LCLD programs and activities. The Compass Award recognizes those individuals and organizations that fulfill all of the following requirements in a single calendar year:
- Member attendance at the LCLD Annual Membership Meeting and/or Member attendance at a Leadership Summit and/or submission of a Leader’s Pledge.
- Participation in the LCLD Fellows and Pathfinder Programs.
- Participation in an LCLD Pipeline program (the 1L Scholars program or the Success in Law School Mentoring Program).
Three Armstrong Teasdale lawyers were selected to participate in 2023 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) programs. Partner Alexandra (Sasha) Thaler participates in the Fellows Program, and Partner Angela Kennedy and Senior Associate Avila Zepp participate in the Pathfinder Program. They join nearly a dozen LCLD program alumni at the firm.
Armstrong Teasdale has long been recognized for its commitments and engagement in the DEI space. In October, the firm announced that it achieved Mansfield Rule 6.0 Certification Plus for 2022-2023. The “Certification Plus” designation indicates that the firm has not only taken steps to increase inclusivity in leadership, but also made measured progress in doing so. In addition, for several years in a row, the firm has received the highest possible score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index, a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer workplace equality.
