Litigator Ida Shafaie Earns Women’s Justice Award
Armstrong Teasdale Litigation Associate Ida Shafaie has been recognized with a Women’s Justice Award from Missouri Lawyers Weekly.
Now in its 22nd year, the Women’s Justice Awards program celebrates the success of exceptional women in the legal field and honors those who are helping move the needle in their communities. Shafaie was selected in the Litigation Practitioner category, which highlights women who have made their careers in the courtroom.
A skilled trial attorney and member of the Employment and Labor practice area, Shafaie primarily counsels clients regarding complex civil rights claims and related state and local antidiscrimination laws. She regularly assists employers in developing policies and procedures and conducts internal investigations. Ida performs training seminars and has authored articles on best practices to help employers make informed decisions.
In addition to her employment practice, Shafaie counsels on education matters, working with primary, secondary, and postsecondary institutions. She has handled matters involving public record laws as well as claims arising under Title IX.
Shafaie is also an active member of Armstrong Teasdale’s Inclusion Committee; the Women Lawyers' Association of Greater St. Louis (Board Member, Secretary); Theodore McMillian American Inn of Court (Associate Member); and Missouri Employment Law Newsletter (Co-Editor). She volunteers annually for Motion for Kids; serves as a mentor for the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity; is a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Facility Corporation Board; serves as co-chair of the Armstrong Teasdale Michael C. Tramble Memorial Scholarship Fund Campaign Committee; and is involved with the St. Louis Regional Business Council’s Young Professionals Network.
Shafaie will be recognized at a cocktail hour and dinner reception in June.
